*Prior to 1965, I recorded under the name Half-Blind Nelly Longbaum

I signed exclusive contracts with both Sun and Concordia who each recorded and released virtually identical tracks. Because the combined sales of the album totaled over 100,000, I got a gold record.

My come back and new recordings

2003 marked a turning point in the direction of my music. Prior to 2003, I never concerned myself with the big issues of society unless it would help album sales or land me a new contract.
I recorded an album, "I'm Blue and I'm Proud" back in 1972. I wanted to attract young folks in the black power and "black is beautiful" movement. The album was a flop since none of the tunes danceable- at least what they called dancing in the seventies.

My record label tore up my contract and mailed me the pieces. I went into a deep depression.
I drank. I went to seminary. I tried aerobics : nothing helped. After almost 15 years, I finally sought counseling after the election of George W. Bush. According to the shrink, I had a rare personality type, INTP which explained why I acted and reacted the way I did. This explained everything. I started to play and sing again. It was like I was born again. I starting writing hundreds of songs, poems, essays, raps. My 2003 Album INTP Blues is a compilation of the best of these writings set to my music. They tell me it is my best work to date.
